Taran and Tovi's Adventures in the Wilds Hunting for Treasure

Per Taran's request Connor took the T-kids (Taran and Tovi... A-kid was napping) on an adventure across the river from our house into the "wilds" to hunt for treasures. Specifically Taran was interested in uncovering valuable metals like... iron scraps. The kids packed some very useful tools for their quest. Taran brought his shovel.

A hammer.

A metal detector.

Tovi tested the metal detector and found some nails.

A fine sense of balance and sharp eyes are useful too.

A positive demeanor doesn't hurt.

Teamwork.

Yes Teamwork!

Sunday morning

Mowing the lawn is not a two person job but maybe it should be.

What could possibly distract three hungry critters from their worms in the dirt dessert?

Happy Birthday Taran

Happy Birthday Dear Taran!
Our seven year old at his gymnastics birthday party.

Classmates, soccer friends and neighbors.

Birthday at home with goofy 1 and goofy 2.

Taran requested carrot, chocolate and white cake for his birthday weekend.

India Outfits

Connor picked out some beautiful childrens clothing from the market in New Delhi India. Avala was due for her nap and not in the mood for pictures. Big brother was not exactly in the mood either (he had some Indian currency to inspect) but cooperative. Tovi was both in the mood and cooperative... in her own special Tovi way. :)

Tap Dance Recital

Tovi's dance class held their two day tap dance recital June 10 and 11. It was very cute but a challenge for a tiny sibling (Miss Avi) to sit quietly and patiently in a dark theatre while mommy watched the performance and attempted to take photos. The results are interesting due to a new camera, no flash rule, and super doper zooming requirements.

The girls danced to Elvis song 'Let me be your Teddy Bear'. It was adorable and I will have a DVD of the performance sometime soon.

Tovi did all the dancing and the bear took it easy.
Tovi's very sparkly purple costume.

A brand new barbie kept Tovi company during the long wait in the dressing room between numbers.

Concrete

hatWhat marvelous luck that a concrete truck came to entertain us on a day when all three kids were home sick. We had a large pad poured in the front of the house for additional play area and we replaced the driveway wood curbing.

24 hours to harden.

But first the kids made some handprints.

Several Long Days

Mommy spent the day dosing out Tylenol and Motrin for kids with fevers. Kids were feeling yucky but trying to be good.

Mom and Dad's bedroom was the 'flop on the floor' place where if you were lucky Avala would give you a world famous pat-pat-pat on the head.

Fashion or What. Usually What.

Shorts worn on the head make a lovely evening hat.

A disguise! I think he's a good guy.
Big sisters shoes are always the coolest shoes.

Ballet

Tovi's dance class held their ballet performance May 21st.

As much as Tovi enjoys dancing the recital was not her cup of tea. She was darling even with a grimace of sorts.

She was almost convinced there was no fun to be had until...
She spotted us in the audience and was deeeelighted.

Sisters

Is Tovi her sister's keeper? Tovi says, "yes".
Avala says, 'hmmmmph".
