Our work hosted an Easter egg hunt. Both kids raced around and filled their baskets full of treasures. Afterwards we visited and took pictures with the Easter bunny who Taran informed us is really someone dressed in a rabbit costume.
Tovi is delighted to have a baby sister. She enjoys giving her kisses and picking out her clothes. She tells us, "I'm very glad we have a little soft-haired 'goosekin' !"
Ava is a good passenger, especially we she gets to chew on the ears of her pink poodle carseat straps. Our blue eyed, blond, red and brown haired girl. Attention from big brother and big sister. Lucky girl!
Taran is the dearest big brother. He loves holding her, giving her kisses and making her smile. A cozy spot for Avala to snuggle. "It's okay, I'm here." Avala's Zero Birthday cake. Thank you Corey, Terese, Katie and Sam!
Birthdays make me sleepy.
The happy big sister.
Sneaky feet found their way free of Avala's sleeper.
Still sleep time.
Avala says no thank you to pacifiers.
Surprise!
It was a busy day of welcoming Avala. Taran and Tovi both fell asleep in Dad's arms at the dinner table.
I had some light contractions early am on February 10th and woke up wondering, "Is today the day?". I had a scheduled doctors appointment that morning (8 am) and yes it was so I gave Connor a call and across the street to the hospital birthing center I went (11 am). Connor brought Tovi and Taran over for a quick hello and then they went home with Nana and Grandpa (1 pm). I was induced to speed things up because I had been slowly leaking amniotic fluid more than 24 hrs and they wanted to avoid risks and complications. At 4:46 pm Avala Siri Lou was born complaining but a healthy 7 lbs 2 oz and 19.5".
Climate Scientist / Electrical Engineer, wife to Connor, mommy to an angel daughter Taja Elizabeth, a son Taran Nicholai, and two little girls Tovi Elise, and Avala Siri Lou. Three I will watch over, one that will watch over me.
